GPS System Engineers are expected to have strong sense of ownership, be extremely reliable and have an excellent level of systems and networking knowledge backed up by hands on experience.
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
Coordinating installation of Payments network and server infrastructure.
Integrating and connecting new partners (banks, payment processors, and financial institutions).
Negotiating technical requirements with partners.
Analyzing and improving availability, efficiency, capacity, scalability, security and performance of Payments systems.
Representing GPS Operations while working with internal teams and external partners.
Troubleshooting and resolving problems with production systems.
Monitoring of production applications, including designing and implementing automated methods to monitor production applications.
Documenting production systems.
Developing and maintaining operations tools.
Mentoring and being a role model for junior engineers
GPS Systems Operations engineers will be part of a 12x7 (globally split 24x7) on-call rotation (pager, cellphone) for all Payments systems.

Education:(UG B.Tech/B.E. Computers, Electrical, Electronics/Telecommunication, BCA Computers) OR (PG M.Tech Any Specialization, Computers, Electrical, Electronics/Telecommunication, M.Sc Any Specialization, MCA Computers) AND ( Doctorate Doctorate Not Required)
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and relevant experience.
Expert knowledge of Linux/Unix
Excellent knowledge of computer networks with ability to troubleshoot and design such networks (transport protocols, routing protocols, firewalls, load balancing, VPN solutions, etc.)
Excellent knowledge of server hardware.
IT Security and data encryption fundamentals
Experience in deploying and supporting web and/or payments applications in a 24x7 production environment.
Functional Scripting/Programming knowledge (e.g. Perl, Python Ruby, Shell, etc.).
Excellent customer service, communication, documentation, work prioritization and analytical skills.
Data Center or TELCO experience
Cisco certification (CCNA or higher) or equivalent networking experience
Java/C/C++ and Web Services programming. Prior experience in product development is a plus.
Performance tuning (especially web servers, middleware and databases (Oracle preferred) )
Expert knowledge of application and infrastructure security
Database programming and administration
