The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners.

Candidate will assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standards and best practices. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life cycle.
Candidate is accountable for the following systems: Primarily Windows and Linux systems that support the existing infrastructure and the operations, support, maintenance and research/development to ensure continual innovation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Setup, configuration and administration of Windows and server/client installations, VMWare ESX
Minimal Linux Red Hat experience is a nice to have
Network support for Cisco gear
Administration of Active Directory environment
On-call support scheduled rotation
Qualifications/Requirements:
Windows 2003 Server installation & configuration (3 Years)
VMware ESX/ESXi (3 years)
Active Directory administration and configuration experience Production support of complex Windows based infrastructure (3 years)
Technology consulting experience, worked at a customer site location, good verbal, written and listening skills
Requires a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience, requires occasional lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds
Team player-ability to work closely with others
Business, systems and root cause analysis
Organized-ability to handle multiple priorities at one time
Professional attitude and demeanor
Ability to diagnose and trace problems
Good operating and time management skills
Experience working in a PCI or high security environment
Educational Requirements: (note required and desired)
Four(4) year college degree or equivalent related working experience
