As a member of QIPLs Modem Systems group, the candidate will be responsible for developing algorithms and architectures for wireless cellular modems. Candidate will actively participate and contribute to QCTs systems engineering activities related to the development and commercialization of chipsets based on various cellular modem technologies for ever improved efficiency and capability. This includes theoretical analysis, computer aided analysis, regular active participation in design and review sessions, contribution to QUALCOMM's IP portfolio, systems support for implementation and chip-commercialization related activities and submission of technical papers to relevant conferences. Extensive knowledge of radio communication theory and digital signal processing as well solid background in cellular communication systems across layers and good understanding of the products development aspects associated with the wireless industry. Experience of receiver design for CDMA based systems is required; implementation experience on DSP platforms is a major plus; experience with LTE or TDMA based systems is a plus; knowledge of the UMTS/1x/EVDO radio access network design is a plus. Prior experience of working with multi-sited teams in multiple disciplines is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential.
Skills / Experience: Comfortable with UNIX/Win/Linux computing platforms - Demonstrated programming skills in Assembler/C/C++/MATLAB - Demonstrated skills in design of communications simulation tools Qualification: Working experience in the wireless modem industry in a systems engineering position.
Education Requirements : Masters in Communications Engg/ Digital Signal Processing from a reputable Institute. PhD is desirable.
