QUALIFICATION: BE B. Tech / ME/ M. Tech / MS - Mechanical or Aeronautical
EXPERIENCE: 10 to 13 years
JOB CODE : TM - Stress analysis
The role is to lead the stress analysis activities for the design of aircraft actuation systems.
Is accountable to the project team for providing stress acceptance of equipment
Is accountable to the Chief Stress Engineer GAS UK for the Quality and completeness of analysis and related documentation
Demonstrating capability to hold Stress approvals delegated from the Chief Stress Engineer GAS UK as appropriate
Provide stress support at all stages of the product development process from initial sizing, concept & detail design, manufacturing and qualification.
Should be capable of understanding the function and load path of mechanical systems and derive the load cases using free body diagrams.
Should be able to lead and execute the preliminary sizing and detail stress analysis using classical methods and FEA
Review the stress documentation viz. stress plans, stress reports and the calculations
Provide stress input to the concept design schemes, detail drawings and stress support for drawing sign off.
Responsible for coaching and directing the team to ensure the team works as per the standard work and practices of GAS
Strong engineering fundamentals in strength of materials and analysis of aerospace components / structures
Good knowledge and experience in vibration and buckling analyses.
Good knowledge of both Low cycle fatigue (LCF) and High cycle fatigue (HCF) analysis.
Good knowledge of understanding the drawings, tolerances and manufacturing process.
Good knowledge and experience in working with different aerospace materials and their properties.
Knowledge of structures, hydro- and electro-mechanical actuation systems
Skills in using ANSYS
Knowledge of MathCAD& CATIA V5 desirable
Good communication and leadership skills like planning, organizing follow up etc.
Should be capable of leading a team of stress analysts and Technical leads
Should have lead a team of at least 5 members
Good engineering fundamentals in following, but not limited to
Theory of Machines
Strength of materials
Materials engineering etc
