North America Sales and Consulting Division has a sub division selling to the Federal, State and Local Government accounts. The Sales Consulting Division supporting the Public Sector Field Sales has a team of solution Specialists to support them from Bangalore. This team will support the field team to win strategic sales opportunities by demonstrating the technical superiority of Oracle SOA/E20, and DB/Platform products.
Brief Description about the Principal Consultant role:
Support business development and transactional sales for Oracle Technology solutions by creating Proof of Concepts (POCs), re-usable demonstrations, scripts and presentations for use by Presales and Field Sales team.
Architect, design and deploy solutions using Oracle OFM products that would address the customer requirements for presales purpose.
Design, build and deliver Sales Program materials such as training, eNewsletters, and technical iSeminar presentations and demonstrations.
OFM Specialist will focus on the following during their first 3 months in PS team
Develop Solutions/POCs using OFM related technologies
Develop custom workshops for the customers using OFM technologies
How do we measure the performance of the consultants?
Complexity of the POC/Solutions developed
Reusable solutions developed articulating the Oracle OFM products
Skills Ramp Up
Advantages of working for PS team rather than consulting team
Will be working on the latest technologies [only 11g] whereas consulting team has to work on whatever the customer has purchased. It could be 10g as well.
In our team ,consultants will work on multiple technologies whereas in Consulting they may be asked to focus on one technology
Working on multiple technologies will pave way for becoming a solution architect.
In consulting team they might work on 1 project for several years where the learning stops after few months whereas in our team we will be getting new requirements atleast every 2 months so constantly they will be learning new things.
Consulting team could assign them on maintenance related products whereas we develop new solutions constantly.
This is 100% Hands-on job.
