The successful candidate will be part of a team of protocol stack and firmware engineers who are responsible in developing, analyzing, debugging the problems related to 2G, 3G, 4G Protocol stack modules of Intel Mobile Modem platforms. The right candidate will be a self motivated person and a quick learner on emerging wireless technologies. He/She should already have strong UMTS/LTE fundamentals with a good understanding of SW development process; and is able to together in teams and individually when the situation demands.
Perform detailed analysis on various customer protocol stack issues based on intel's 2G, 3G, 4G modem solutions.
Triage and isolate the modem product issues from multiple sources (Field Test, Lab Test, , Operator Approvals, etc..) to various modules of stack, like NAS MM/CM, AS: RRC-DC,RRC-BP, RLC, MAC, Layer-1 within 2G/3G LTE protocol stacks and follow up the issues to faster resolution.
Continuously Develop strong fundamentals in 2G, 3G and LTE; and interworking within triple mode configurationsinterfacing between 2G 3G and LTE
Actively collaborate with handset customers and network vendors about PS issues, test case designpotential candidate should have strong communication skills; candidate will be working with various US network vendors for Network approvals; including occasional travel to customer sites.
Gain Operator and Customer product requirement understanding (ATT, TMobile, US Terminal Vendors Plus)
Collaborate with verification teams to analyze test case failures contained within, but not limited to GCF testing, AT&T ADAPT, Functional Regression Testing FRT, Field testing, and Stability testing.
Be a Go-to person for the verification teams and vendors during PS test case design & assist with day to day questions about PS behavior.
Desired Profile Good at analytical, and ability to learn new areas
Strong fundamentals and good working knowledge of UMTS/LTE PS layers (NAS, AS layers (RRC/RLC/MAC,Layer1): the right candidate should know various mobile handset procedures within UMTS/LTE NAS MM/CM, RRC-DC,RRC-BP, RLC, MAC, Layer-1 modules; and should be able to pick out failures in interworking.
